Kavya completed her Masters in Psychology (M.Sc) from Sampurna Montfort College, Bangalore, and her M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).
She strongly believes in the ability of her clients to heal themselves and in her ability to hold safe space for her clients to discover themselves in their healing journey as they bring in their own vulnerable selves into the therapeutic space. Her approach is personalized and rooted in the latest research, designed to help her clients navigate their way through their mental health challenges. She works with individuals and couples falling in the adolescent and adult age groups. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I) and has several certifications in Neurobiology of Attachment and trauma which is also foundational to her practice.
She is formally trained to offer various psychological assessments including IQ, Learning Difficulties, ADHD, Autism, Personality, Diagnostic clarification and others.
Her areas of interest include developmental trauma, transgenerational trauma, attachment difficulties, process-oriented and relational psychotherapy. She has experience in working with clients having various clinical conditions such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, grief and bereavement, addiction behaviours and personality disorders.
She is also formally trained to offer various evidence-based therapies that include - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety disorders, Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Relational and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy , Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
